This is a little cozy that I made over the weekend for the first Whipup sponsered WhipLash comp. with the theme "everyday creativity".

My original idea was for something to keep bottles warm,
but then I thought of how many times I'd been to a coffee shop and they'd run out of those java jackets. So I made my own. Good for the enviornment, uses stash yarn and super easy to boot!

In use:

Happy Easter!!!

ok, you should totally win the whip up competition. Your cozy is great! i wish I could knit but alas, must stick with sewing. Way to go!
great job! the cozy is super cute!
I love your cozy! I always kick myself when I forget my thermos at home, and then I hoard the coffee sleeves and try to slip them back into the stash when I return to the coffee shop. Very clever solution.
this is totally hip and i too wish i could take some time for knitting!
very nice! the embroidery on it is a fabulous touch!!
very cool. you should post a little pattern!

Thank you everyone for your kind comments! I wish I could reply to everyone personally, but I can't figure out how. So to do it here:
Melissa: your comment made me blush! Thanks, and I envy you your sewing skills. Wanna trade?
Funky finds, susan and rebecca: Thank you! Glad that you like it!
Shiso mama: I totally understand the jacket hoarding...lol. and I love your bib!
Mandy: Thanks! I'm gratified that you feel that this is neat enough to warrent a pattern. I will post one!
What an excellent idea!
I don't have a cup holder in my car so I am forever getting dirty looks for snatching gobs of napkins or getting horrible burns on my thighs from holding the cup there while I drive. This should be the perfect project to show my obsession for coffee and needle arts ;-)
love the colors you used and the designs. hope you win whip up. can't wait to see your pattern and make one too.
I know this week's contest is over but I just wanted to say how much I like this idea! so practical!
So cute and practical.
Thank you all for your comments! I wish that blogger would let me email you all individually, but for now I will just have to answer here.
aunistee: lol, you don't know how many times ive done that. I once spilt an entire cup of coffee down my front on the way to federal jury duty...
bekka: Thank you! I would love to see one if you make it.
ayelet: Thanks!
Dee: Thank you, and I think that your blogger photo is very cute!
You seriously need to sell those. I want some!
This is so adorable. I have been looking all over for something like this.... Do you have a pattern? I would love to make some for the holidays!!!
It looks like there's a ton of variations of this idea! We made one using fabric that even has a sugar packet holder. You can see it here.
If you're not a knitter and want your coffee to stay drinkable for 40 minutes, use a Kup Kollar by Koffee Kompanions. This cup wrap is environmentally safe and is insulated with Thinsulate insulation by 3M used in Arctic clothing. The Kup Kollars come in a lot of cute fabrics and work on cold cups too! www.koffeekompanions.com
Aunistee never had her car, It was her boy friends PORSCHE NOT HERS< and SHE NEVER BURNED HER THIGHS! A LIE!
How cute is that? I'd buy one from you...are you selling them?
